Strong Defense
My approach to a strong defense challenges and seeks to redefine what a strong defense really means.
Americans have been indoctrinated to think that any suggestion of reducing military spending equates to weakening national security. Many Americans are now becoming aware that this is not true in the least. Many Americans are highly in favor of reducing military spending.
There are a number of major problems with increased military spending. Let’s start with the constant propaganda and effects of increasing military spending.
The first step in increased military spending is convincing Americans that there is a need for that increased spending. That need is promoted as fear of a threat. We are constantly being told that threats exist from other countries. Yet those threats are never actual threats to our sovereign integrity. No other country is threatening to nor do they have the ability to directly attack or invade the United States.
We are told that we must defend “American interests” in other countries. Yet not many of us have vested interests in any Middle Eastern country, Taiwan, or any other country you can name.
