You probably don't listen to what a person says at all.

What does it say about your image with no shirt on? Are you a beach bum? Homeless? Sexual predator? Or just "cool" in your own mind? Kind of an inappropriate image for the issue being discussed in any case, which is how people dress.

I have known millionaires in real life who wore worn jeans and flannel shirts, summer or winter. And worn, scuffed cowboy boots. A truly confident and/or successful person could hardly GAF what you think of their shoes.

A person who has something to say will be heard by those who listen. The ones who worry about their clothes are wannabes with nothing worth listening to.
