Yes, technology can be an opportunity but only if we implement economic policies which provide for general income, such as UBI. If automation continues to eliminate jobs, it will mean a smaller and smaller percentage of the population has an income and competition for remaining jobs will result in ever-decreasing compensation for those jobs. We’re already seeing that happening now.
Without implementing a system such as UBI, capitalism itself will collapse. A healthy economic system relies on consumer spending.
