I agree. I have stated for decades that police are nothing but state sanctioned gangs with badges. I grew up in San Antonio, TX, where the police are so corrupt that the Medical Examiner years ago was convicted of falsifying evidence in well over 1300 cases. Hundreds of prisoners were released because it was too expensive to re-investigate and retry all of them.

I had a DWI in 1995. It was later expunged along with thousands of others because of police tampering with the breathalyzer.

Those are the most blatant examples I can name, though I have no shortage of stories I could tell.
