America Has No Enemies, Meeting With Foreign Leaders Is Not Treason
I see a lot of people sharing articles from clickbait farms and neoliberal propaganda warmonger sites about Trump meeting with Kim Jong Un. In the last few days, the same sites and people were sharing stuff about Trump shaking hands with Vladimir Putin.
In every case, the claim or implication is that Trump is committing treason.
First, consider what the Constitution considers treason. For any person to be guilty of treason means that Congress has formally declared war against another country. The guilty party then must be offering aid in some form to that country. Congress has not declared war against any country as of this time. Treason is not a charge which can be applied retroactively.
What you need to be paying attention to is what the “Resistance” suggests regarding any path to peace or diplomacy with alleged “enemies”. Because when you look at things from that perspective, they have nothing. Not one word about ending a single conflict, reducing tensions with other nations, bringing troops home from conflict zones, cutting military spending or US military presence anywhere in the world.
Does this mean I trust Trump? Absolutely not. North Korea has described Trump and his testosterone-drunken team as “gangsters”. In multiple cases there are convincing cases that he plans to make personal financial gains from any so-called “peace efforts” he has engaged in. Has the “Resistance” stepped in to prevent his profit motive…
