$5 Billion To Israel
The House Democrats (and Republicans, of course) voted recently to give $1 billion to Israel to restock the Iron Dome. The vote total was 420 to 9, with at least some of the 9 notoriously voting “present”, so there was no opposition.
This is the same Iron Dome which was instrumental in destroying high rise buildings with civilians present in the buildings at the time. Buildings with journalists residing in them. People left homeless in a country where most homes have already been destroyed by Israeli aggression.
There is no requirement that Israel cease illegal colonization. No requirement for peace talks with Palestine. No accountability for crimes against humanity. No criminal charges for the slaughter of women, children, medics and journalists as the entire world watches on.
One has to keep in mind that this $1 billion is in addition to the $3.8 billion already being handed to Israel, bringing the total to $4.8 billion. There was no discussion on where the money would come from, how this would be paid for. Not even the Republicans asked these questions.
